PIERRE, (KCCR) — Dozens of candidates have taken out and returned petitions to run for various office in the upcoming June 2nd primary election. In Lyman County Zane Reis, Brian Kraus and Beau Johnson have submitted petitions for seats on the County Commission. A primary for Sheriff will take place in Jones County. Incumbent Sheriff Rich Sylva is being challenged by Kyle Kumm. Terri Vomler is the only person to have taken out petitions for Jones County Register of Deeds. In Buffalo County there will be a primary election for County Finance Officer. Debra Morrison and Susan Hoarty have taken out petitions for that race. Meanwhile Wayne Willman has turned in petitions for Sheriff and Jacob Knippling, Donita Loudner and Rick Wooledge, Jr. have returned petitions for seats on the Buffalo County Commission. Loudner and Wooledge will have a primary in District Three. In Ziebach County, Gary Cudmore has returned petitions for Sheriff and Michael Deneui for Coroner. The County Commission race in Ziebach County is full. Six individuals are running for the at large spots including Democrats Shane Farlee and Lee Brooks; Republicans Tucker Stocklin, Rick Farlee and Troy Hall and Independent Casey Gage.
