FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre City Council is shifting its normal Monday night meeting to tonight due to the Easter Monday holiday. Council members will hear reports from city staff before getting into the agenda. A public hearing will be held for a temporary liquor license for the Pat Duffy Community Center at the Stanley County Fairgrounds on May 2nd. New business for the Council includes consideration of a 2026 Medical Cannabis license renewal for Black Hills Cannabis Care and second and final reading of the 2026 supplemental budget ordinance. The Council will consider approving authorization to surplus equipment for the state surplus sale and authorization to apply to the State Water Plan. Council members will consider approval of a resolution supporting the submission of an application for funding from the Recreational Trails Program and four property tax abatement requests will come before the Council. Other agenda items include pay applications for both Fort Pierre city storage buildings and a personal item. The Fort Pierre City Council meets at six pm tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League Meeting room.
