The Gettysburg Battlers and the Hoven Greyhounds would both compete indoors in Aberdeen on Monday to open the track and field season with a total of six wins between the two teams.
The Battlers would get four wins with Finlee Heien winning the 400 meter run while Emma Schlachter would win the 800 meters and the two would team up with Jaydn Ahlemeier and Paige Ahlemeier to win the 4×400. Layla Cronin would get first in the 1600 meter run with teammate Jaycee Stevens placing second. In the 800 meters, Jaydn would also be fifth, Paige seventh and Cronin eighth for four Battlers to be in the top ten. Heien was also tenth in the 200 meters. For the Battler boys, Jackson Simon would be fourth in the 400 meters for the lone top ten finish.
Hoven had Dannika Kaup win the 200 meter run and the 55 meter hurdles. Kaup would also place third in the long jump and sixth in the 400 meters. Kea Cronin had a top ten finish in the shot put at seventh. Jayden Karst had the highest finish for the Hoven boys, placing 11th in the 400 meter run.
