Friday evening, Team South Dakota 14U would win to advance to the quarterfinals with a 6-0 win and then win in the quarterfinals Saturday afternoon 4-1 advancing to Saturday night’s semifinal.
Friday evening Sioux Center’s Maci Canneigeter would score twice along with Mitchell’s Vaya Mimmack, Sioux Falls’ Neely Meyer, Watertown’s Gracelyn Webb and Yankton’s Olivia Shoemaker all scoring once as Yankton’s Makenzie Brunick had a 15 save shutout. Oahe’s Mallory Lehrkamp had an assist in the win picking up her second point of the tournament. The win advanced Team SD into the quarterfinals on Saturday.
Team South Dakota would beat the Cleveland Lady Barons 4-1 as South Dakota would open up with the lead 2-0 after one as Canneigeter would score her sixth goal of the tournament. Sioux Falls’ Evelyn Berg made it 2-0. Mimmack would score on Lehrkamp’s assist and Mimmack added another goal to make it 4-1 as Oahe’s Taylah Allerdings would get a win stopping 36 of 37 shots as South Dakota was outshot by 15 but still would get the win.
Team SD will play in the semifinals later on Saturday at 6:15 Central Time against Seacoast Spartans of New Hampshire.
