The Pierre Governor track and field team will in Brookings on Saturday as the season begins with the Ruth Marske Indoor Meet at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
The Governors will see eight other AA schools at the meet on Saturday but a total of 29 schools competing which includes teams from Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. The Governors get their first chance to see where this year’s team stands after the first meet. With all the success the Governors saw last year on both the boys and girls side, new faces will fill new roles in field events and in the running events especially in relays. It’s the lone indoor event of the season and the Governors will be outside for their first home meet, Tuesday, April 7 for the annual Bob Judson invite with most of the local area competing at Hollister Field.
