The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers women’s basketball team would have a second half surge for the history books as the Tigers would beat Bethel 82-77 to advance to the NAIA Semifinals.
Rylee Rosenquist had a career high 40 points for DWU on 12-18 shooting and going 15-18 from the free throw line as the Tigers, who trailed by seven early in the fourth quarter, came back to get the five point win over the top see of the quadrant advancing to Monday’s national semifinals. Avery Broughton had 21 and Emma Yost had 12 as the three combined for all but nine points in the game for the Tigers. Bethel’s Micah Hart had 35 points for the team high while Mikee Buchanan had 21, but the Tigers were able to hold the rest down to get the win.
Dakota Wesleyan will face Marian, Indiana in the second national semifinal on Monday with a spot in the NAIA national championship which will be played on Tuesday. The semifinal is at 8:00 tonight at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
