The two seed the Duer quadrant, the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers is heading to the NAIA Round of 16 with wins over St. Francis of Illinois and the College of the Ozarks in the Missouri.
On Friday, the Tigers would knock off St. Francis 83-55 with four players hitting double figures led by Rylee Rosenquist’s 19 points while Emma Yost had 16, Avery Broughton with 15 and Shalayne Nagel with 11. The Tigers were able to outscore the Fighting Saints in all four quarters and able to get 12 players into the game in the first round win. The Tigers shot nearly 50% from the field in the win.
On Saturday, the Tigers beat the College of Ozarks 76-53 again outscoring its opponent in all four quarters. The Tigers opened up with a 27-14 lead at the end of the first and then it would be 49-23 at the half. Four players hit double figures with Emma Yost scoring 24 points while Avery Broughton had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Rylee Rosenquist scored 14 and Jaida Young with 11 as the Tigers again shot well, hitting nearly 45% from the field.
Dakota Wesleyan will advance to Sioux City, Iowa at the Tyson Events Center for the Round of 16 and will face the three seed in the Duer quadrant Lindsey Wilson. Tip off is at 1:00 on Friday.
