FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden signed House Bill 1058 into law Tuesday morning at the South Dakota State Capitol in a private signing ceremony. After the signing, Shane Kramme with the South Dakota Horseman’s Association says passing the bill was a long time coming…
Kramme says Rhoden was supportive of the effort to restore a horse racing funding mechanism…
District 24 Representative Mike Weisgram carried the bill through the Legislature and says Kramme’s leadership was key to getting 1058 passed and signed…
Weisgram says Rhoden deserves credit for getting the bill where it is…
The bill becomes law July 1st. Kramme says the next step in getting the new licensing fees to support horse racing is the South Dakota Commission on Gaming sending notification of the licensing requirement to the affected online pari-mutual wagering providers.
