PIERRE, (KCCR) — There are local meetings a plenty today due to the President’s Day holiday. The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at 5:30 pm at the Pierre Municipal Building. Commissioners will hold a public hearing for a farmland lease agreement and consider approval of asphalt crushing quotes and summer recreation program fees. The Fort Pierre City Council is moving their normal Monday meeting tonight at six pm at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room. Their agenda includes two public hearings for temporary malt beverage licenses along with approval of 2026 electrical and plumbing licenses and a listing agreement with Fischer Rounds. The Council will also give authorization to sign an intergovernmental agreement and will meet with Stanley County’s new Emergency Manager Dustin Baxter among other agenda items. The Hughes County Commission is also meeting Tuesday in the afternoon. Commissioner will among other things consider approval of a user agreement for a highway shop facility, Jail Medical Malpractice Insurance and an addition counseling contract. The Hughes County Commission meets at three-pm at the Hughes County Courthouse.
