PIERRE, (KCCR) — Declining enrollments in the Pierre School District is forcing the District to make changes specifically to the district’s elementary schools. Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt says declining enrollment equals declining funds to operate…
With lower class sizes at the elementary level, that is where changes will be made…
Glodt says while there may be some shifting of staff he doesn’t expect the District to have to cut staffing…
Glodt also mentioned that while Capital Outlay funds can be transferred to the general fund for operations, only a limited amount can be used for that. And digging too deep into Capital Outlay could harm maintenance on facilities in future years.
