PIERRE, (KCCR) — A bill to let counties charge more for the mailing of vehicle license renewals has been passed by the South Dakota Senate. House Bill 1034 cleared the upper chamber Friday on a 27-to-one vote. Senator Randy Deibert says it’s time to update the rates…
The only opposition came from Senator John Carley who wanted the change to only reflect the actual cost of mailing plates and decals…
Deibert, in closing the short debate asked his fellow Senators to see how their local Auditors do it…
Because of Senate amendments to the bill it will be heard again in the South Dakota House, possibly this afternoon.
