The Pierre Governor girls wrestling team remains unbeaten in duals with a win on Thursday over Brandon Valley 42-25, but the Gov boys would drop a tough one 48-25.
In the girls dual, Sydney Caven, Gemma Stangeland, Layne Heasley, Lexie Hillmer, Kezrey Benning and Abbigail Lewis each would get wins with Benning, Heasley and Lewis grabbing pinfall wins. Hillmer had a tech fall to grab bonus points as the Govs also had two forfeit wins to get to 42 on the evening and hold off Brandon Valley for the win.
In the boys contest, Pierre won five matches with Noah Horsley and Damon Horsley each grabbing a pinfall victory while Alex Oedekoven and Porter Hunsley each had tech fall victories. Walker West finished with 7-0 decision win but the Lynx would get bonus points in all nine of their wins with four pins, four tech falls and a major decision. Pierre drops to 8-3 on the season while Brandon Valley improves to 12-2.
