Brecken Furhman would score all three of his goals in the second period as the Oahe Capitals stormed out to a 7-2 win over the Huron All Stars on Friday to open up the weekend.
Oahe grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first period with Lyle Boni, Tryton Parmley and Logan Anderson all scoring with just over four minutes remaining in the first. However, the All Stars answered with two goals in the final minute 40 to make it 3-2 and quickly turn a near blow out to a one goal game at the end of the first period. Midway through the second Fuhrman would his first of the game before adding a second 23 seconds later and then Ayden Behm would score for a total of three goals in a minute to make it 6-2. Fuhrman finished off the hat trick with a short handed goal as the Caps would get two special teams goals on the night. Oahe peppered 39 shots on goal with Noah Lueking making 23 saves on 25 shots for the Caps picking up his fourth win of the season.
Oahe improves to 8-5 on the season and will face Brandon Valley on Saturday with a 6:15 puck drop. The Lady Capitals will take on Rushmore at 10:15 in the morning. Coverage of both games are on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
