The Stanley County Buffaloes will be in Murdo tonight for a doubleheader as the girls and boys look for wins against the Jones County Coyotes to start a busy week.
Both boys and girls teams will play three games this week with the Lady Buffaloes also facing Sully Buttes on the road on Thursday and then at home against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte for Hall of Fame night. The Lady Buffs are looking for its first win of the season after falling to Gettysburg and Lyman last week. The Lady Buffs are 0-10 but are playing just the 3-3 Coyotes. Jones County has not played since Friday January 9 when they lost to Wall. Stanley County will look to use the potential rust of the Coyotes to pick up the first win of the season.
The Buffalo boys team is coming in at 8-1 after picking up second place in Murdo on Saturday at the Jones County Invitational Tournament. It’s the fourth straight game in Murdo, but the first game against Jones County. Eddie Duffy and Paxton Deal made the All-Tournament team with Deal being named the MVP as both guys will be looking for another big night just days later at the Harrold Thune Auditorium. Jones County is coming in at 5-5 placing fourth in the tournament losing to Lyman and White River after opening the tournament with a 46-45 win over Crazy Horse.
Tip off tonight is at 6:30 for the girls game and the boys game to follow at the Harrold Thune Auditorium in Murdo.
