For the first time in 2026, the Pierre Governor gymnastics team will be back on the mat as they travel to Brookings Saturday for the first invite of January.
It’s also the Governors first contest since Saturday, December 20 when the Governors traveled to Mitchell after having a busy start to the season. Pierre had three events in five days and now will compete in just the second dual since then in the last 32 days. Pierre will look to fight off the rust and get back into the swing of things with just a little over a month remaining before the state tournament. Pierre is still scheduled for another home meet, a triangular next Saturday.
The invite in Brookings begins at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
