FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — A very light agenda will greet the Fort Pierre City Council for it’s first meeting of 2026 tonight. The meeting will start with city officials giving reports to the Council before the Council considers action on six different items. First up is introduction and first reading of the annual utility rate ordinance followed by approval of a 2025 electrical license and overall approval of 2026 licenses from dray, electric and plumbing services in the city for the year. The Council will consider approval and authorization to sign S-I-B loan agreement number two with the South Dakota Department of Transportation. Two pay applications round out the agenda for the Fort Pierre City Council. Both are to Will Clark Electric for the Cold Storage buildings. The two pay apps are for a combined 418-thousand 851-dollars. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at six pm at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room on Island Drive in Fort Pierre. The meeting is open to the community.
