The Pierre Governor wrestling teams are back in action for the first time in 2026 and the first time since Tuesday, December 16 as the Governors travel to Huron.
It’s a boys and girls dual as the second half of the season really begins even though the month of December is light compared to how busy the teams will be in the month of January and into February where the state tournaments commence. The Govs get an ESD invite to kickoff January with both Governor teams being 1-0 on the season with a win over Aberdeen Central on the road. The Governors had its home opener postponed against Harrisburg on December 18 where now the Govs have to wait until Thursday, January 15 to have its home opener when they host Tea and Watertown in a triangular. The Huron boys are 4-0 while the girls are also 3-0. The Tigers beat Mitchell in a girls and boys dual on Thursday, December 18 to finish out 2025.
The duals begin at 4:00 at Huron High School tonight.
