For the first time ever, the Oahe Capitals will play in Brandon as the Brandon Valley IceCats host the Caps in the first game of 2026.
This is the first year for Brandon Valley to have its home arena just opening prior to the season. Oahe has not lost to Brandon Valley in varsity games to this point with the IceCats still under five years of varsity. The IceCats are 0-6-0-1 on the season with an overtime loss to begin the season against Aberdeen 4-3 but have allowed seven plus goals in the last six games including double digit goals in four of those games. Brandon Valley lost to Watertown last Saturday and will play Mitchell on the road tonight before hosting the Caps on Saturday. Oahe is 6-3 with a 12-3 loss to Rushmore last time out, stopping a four game winning streak. The Caps are third in points starting 2026 but would be fifth in terms of losses. Logan Brown has five goals in his first five games with the Caps. The Caps will only have two road games left the remainder of the season after Saturday’s game.
Coverage Saturday night will begin at 4:40 with puck drop at 5:00 from Brandon on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
