The Oahe Lady Capitals would get two wins over the weekend overcoming a 1-0 deficit beating Watertown 2-1 on Saturday at home and Rushmore 5-1 on Sunday in Rapid City.
On Saturday, the Lakers would get the first goal of the game from Emma Schleusner, the second straight week the Lakers opened up with a lead. However, late in the second period, Ainsley Ries would finally get the Caps first goal, her first career varsity goal, to tie the game at 1-1 with only 26 seconds remaining in the period. In the third, Kiersten Miller would get a pass from Sonya Jundt scoring to give the Caps a 2-1 lead. Taylah Allerdings would get her second win of the season stopping all shots in relief.
Oahe would again trail on Sunday with Mallory Chisolm scoring first for the Rushmore Thunder. But Elliot Bertsch would have a give and go pass with Mallory Lehrkamp to go the length of the ice to tie the game about a minute later. Lehrkamp would steal a puck in the neutral zone before scoring to give the Caps a 2-1 lead late in the first and Dakota McEntaffer would make it 3-1 at the end of one for the Caps. Oahe allowed just three more shots on goal the rest of the game while Lehrkamp and McEntaffer each would score again for the Lady Caps as Kylee Fromm stopped 12 of 13 shots to pick up the win as Oahe is now 8-2 on the season heading into 2026.
The Lady Caps will have two weeks off before traveling to Brookings on Friday, January 16 for its first game of 2026.
