For the first time this season the Stanley County Buffalo boys basketball team will be home as the Buffs host the Philip Scotties in a girls and boys doubleheader.
The Lady Buffs will again look for its first win of the season as they face the Philip Lady Scotties to open up the night. The Lady Scotties are 1-1 after the 65-51 win on Tuesday night at home against Belle Fourche to even its record. Philip went 10-10 last year falling in the Region 7B playoffs. Philip beat Stanley County by 23 last year. Stanley County is at 0-4 with a near win over White River and the offense is still gaining momentum. Addy Deal’s 31 points on Tuesday led the Lady Buffs and as more continue to contribute the offense can gain traction.
Stanley County boys are 2-0 on the young season but, its buzzer beating win over Winner on Tuesday is a big boost of confidence even as early as the season is. They face the 0-2 Scotties who dropped a 49-40 decision to Lemmon on the road on Tuesday. At 6-15 last season, the Buffs were able to cruise to a 34 point win over Philip last year, but the Scotties only graduated two seniors from last year’s team with a lot of experience coming back. It’s the last games of the 2025 calendar year for Stanley County as the Buffs won’t play again until early in 2026.
Tip off of the girls game is scheduled for 6:00 with the boys game to follow at the Parkview Auditorium in Fort Pierre.
