The Pierre Governor wrestling teams will be at home for the first time in the 2025-26 season as the Governors host the Harrisburg Tigers in the second dual of the week.
Both the Governor girls and boys would win their dual on Tuesday on the road against Aberdeen Central as the Govs look to each go 2-0 to start the season. For the Harrisburg girls, its the first dual of the season as the Govs will try and take down the Tigers who have competed in the Rapid City Invite and and in Iowa for a tournament. It’ll be the first dual of the season for Harrisburg. The Tigers scored 73 points in Rapid City while the Govs scored 149.
For the boys, the Govs will take on a Harrisburg team also getting its first dual of the season. The two teams were fourth and sixth at the Rapid City Invite last weekend as the Govs scored a 164 while Harrisburg had a 122.5. In the tournament, three Governors wrestled against Harrisburg and went 1-2 in those matches. Jordan Schafer won in the 150 quarterfinals but Walker West in the 132 and Devin Binger in the 285 would fall in their matches. It’s the final event of 2025 for the Governors until January 2.
The JV matches begin at 4:00 with a rolling schedule at Riggs High School in Pierre tonight.
