The Oahe Capitals would start its weekend with a win over the Sioux Center Storm on Friday night on the road as the Caps would pick up a 4-1 victory.
The Caps would go down in the first period on an unfortunate break after a shot from Jordyn Wasmund was deflected by the Capitals into the net as the Storm led 1-0. But Aubrey Stewart would get the game tied on the power play as the Caps and Storm were tied 1-1 through the first 17 minutes. Brenna Ullman would score late in the second period on a shot pass from the boards by Kiestan Miller and after two the Caps held a 2-1 advantage. The game remained 2-1 until the final two minutes when the Storm pulled the goalie and the Caps were able to set up Miller for an empty net goal to go up 3-1. Dakota McEntaffer would score in the final seconds of the third period to finish off the win as the Caps are now 4-1 on the season. Kylee Fromm made key saves throughout the game as she stopped 25 of 26 shots for her fourth win.
Oahe will take on the undefeated Sioux Falls Flyers Saturday afternoon. Coverage will begin at 1:40 with puck drop at 2:00 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
