PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre School Board is meeting early this month. A pre-meeting meeting will be held at 4:30 pm with members of the District 24 legislative delegation to discuss education priorities and the approaching legislative session in January. The regular meeting begins at 5:30 pm. Board members will consider approval of a seven-item consent calendar before hearing comments from Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt. Board and public comments will follow along with an update from the Riggs Student Senate. The Board will consider approval of an election date for a possible School Board election and associated with that consideration of a joint election agreement with Hughes County and the City of Pierre. That agreement allows for the sharing of election costs between the three groups. Other agenda items include approval of donations and contract items. Both the legislative meeting and regular meeting will be held at the District Administration building on Poplar Avenue. The meeting is open to the public.
