The Stanley County boys wrestling team will open the season tonight as the Buffaloes will travel down to Presho to wrestle three duals in the Lyman Quad.
Stanley County was one of eight teams to make the Class B Dual wrestling tournament last year as the Buffs were the five seed but lost both matches to Bon Homme/Avon and Parkston. The Buffaloes graduate just three from last year’s team, but were three big pieces as Colton Brady, Hayden Roggow and Spencer Sargent graduate. Both Roggow and Sargent made the individual state tournament last year. The Buffs do return Jerrick Walker, Landon Bame, Case Kolda, Sayth Cronin and Witt Myers who all made the individual state tournament in 2025.
Stanley County will face Lyman, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney and Todd County/White River tonight opening the season. Last year the Buffs went 3-0 in the quadrangular and will again look for a fast start to the season tonight. The quad begins at 6:00 tonight in Presho.
