PIERRE, (KCCR) — Another light agenda will greet the Pierre City Commission tonight. The meeting will start in special business where Dusty Pelle will be formally sworn-in as Pierre’s next Chief of Police. The Commission will consider approval of a six-item consent calendar. The calendar includes approval of claims; meeting minutes from the November 4th meeting and two new hire and raffle requests. The new hires are for the Parks and Water Departments. The raffle requests have been filed by the Pierre School District for Destination Imagination and a second unrelated raffle involving a benefit for Feeding South Dakota. Only two items of new business make up the balance of the agenda. Commissioners will consider approval of five special event temporary alcohol licenses filed by Larkspur Landing for events on November 21st and December 5th, 11th , 13th and 31st. The Commission will also consider second and final reading of the 2026 Utility Rate ordinance. The meeting will end with Commissioners presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm in the Pierre Municipal Building.
