The Highmore-Harrold Pirates would fall in the Region 6B SoDak 16 qualifier on Thursday on the road to the Ipswich Tigers as the Tigers would sweep the Pirates ending their season.
Scores of the match were 25-16, 25-11 and 25-18 as the Pirates tried to fight through the first and third set to make a run, but the Tigers were too powerful as they go to 23-6 on the season. Highmore-Harrold had won five of six heading into the match and had the extra day of rest after playing on Monday. Ipswich will be the 13th seed in the SoDak 16 next Tuesday facing the Parkston Trojans.
The Pirates end the season at 16-11. Addison McDonnell is the lone senior on this year’s Pirate volleyball team who will be unable to return.
