The Pierre Governor football team will look to extract some revenge and do so in the 11AA semifinal tonight as the Governors travel to Huron to take on the Tigers.
Back in week two, the Governors traveled to Huron and came just short of beating the Tigers in a 13-7 loss where the Govs offense was stymied, but still had an opportunity to win the game in the final seconds. Pierre has since figured out the offense which started in week seven and the Govs have scored 40 plus points in the last four games including a 41-7 win over Tea last week. The Tigers are playing a different team for the first time in three weeks after Huron lost in Brookings to end the season 22-14, but came back and beat the Tigers the next week in the first round of the playoffs in Huron with a 7-2 victory. Steve Steele head coach of the Pierre Governors says Huron continues to be really sound defensively…
Some because of injuries, others with just trying different personnel, the Governor offense looks much different than in the week two game. Last week Jerren Deal and Porter Hunsley were the quarterback and tailback for the Governors. Steele says those two can be thunder and lightning in the backfield…
Steele says they have to cash in on red zone trips tonight…
Coverage tonight begins at 6:30 with a 7:00 kickoff in Huron. You can listen to the game on KCCR and watch it on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Mendel Miller on the call.
