Despite strong efforts by the home team, the Sully Buttes Chargers would fall 25-15, 25-23 and 25-15 to the Mobridge Pollock Lady Tigers Tuesday night in Onida wrapping up the regular season.
Blake Thompson helped lead Mobridge Pollock in both the back and front rows, along with solid setting by Ellie Kemnitz, and top notch libero play by fellow senior Tegan Konold. Meanwhile the front row play of Madison Bradberry, Tomi White, Scottlynn Kinney and Jadyn Jaeger were up to the match, but hitting errors once again plagued the Chargers game. Libero Tahni Yellow Hawk had an outstanding night in digs and passes, and despite all three sets being close at mid-set, the Lady Tigers kept Sully Buttes at arms’ length to push their record to 17-15.
The 7-18 Chargers will open postseason play on Monday at home against Tiospaye Topa in the first round of the Region 6B tournament. Catch the Chargers in postseason play with Wyatt Burichka next week on Country 95.3FM.
