The Sully Buttes Chargers are opening its title defense in 9B with a first round playoff matchup against a familiar foe, the Hitchock-Tulare Patriots tonight in Onida.
While the Chargers and Patriots battled in week three of the season and Sully Buttes picked up a 52-12 win in Tulare, Tom Moore, head coach of the Sully Buttes Chargers says it’s not the same team they faced in week three of the season and doesn’t take a lot of stock in the win six weeks ago…
Since the loss to the Chargers, which dropped the Patriots to 1-3, they went 2-2 with losses to 7-1 Ipswich and the fourth ranked team Faulkton Area while getting blow out wins over Sunshine Bible Academy and Arlington. All five of the Patriots losses came to teams above .500 in the standings. Moore says scheme wise they still look similar, but are much more effective lately…
Moore says the Chargers have to get the Patriots off the field tonight for success…
Coverage tonight begins at 6:10 with kickoff at 6:30 on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with DT Meyer, the voice of the Sully Buttes Chargers on the call.
