Saturday afternoon, the Pierre Governor soccer team is looking for a state semifinal berth for the first time since winning the state championship in 2018 as they host the Watertown Arrows.
The Governors had a near flawless second half against Mitchell on Tuesday in the first round with a 5-1 win scoring four times in the half. Now they get another double digit seed in Watertown, but the Arrows are coming in with a lot of confidence having beaten the six seed Lincoln 2-1 on the road on Tuesday for the lone upset of the girls first round. The two teams met back on Tuesday, September 2 as the Governors hosted the Arrows and won 3-2 which was near the halfway point of the season.
Coverage of the match begins at 12:40 with kickoff at 1:00 from the PILC Fields in Pierre on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Mendel Miller on the call.
