The Pierre Governor volleyball team will get its one game against a Class A opponent on Saturday as they face a tough Class A team in the Lennox Orioles.
Lennox is 19-1 on the season and will be coming off its only loss of the season when Dell Rapids knocked off the Orioles last week Thursday. The Orioles have a win over Tea in Class AA, but that’s been the only game played against a AA opponent so far on the season. Prior to the 3-1 loss to Dell Rapids, Lennox had dropped just two sets in the first 19 matches overall. Pierre is coming in at 2-10 and have lost six straight and continue to chase the top 16, sitting outside of the SoDak 16 currently. The Govs have eight matches remaining needing at least two wins to have a shot at making the playoffs.
First serve on Saturday from Lennox is scheduled for 2:30.
