In a much needed game on a special night to support breast cancer. Pierre hosted the Huron Tigers on Tuesday night looking to snap a five game losing streak. Huron runs and violations were the difference on Tuesday.
Set one was the most lob-sided set of the evening after a commanding 8-0 lead from Huron to start the match, they would finish the set winning 25-9. The Governors couldn’t stop the run that Huron began the set. The Tigers finished unofficially with eight kills to just three for Pierre.
The second set was a similar start. Huron jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Two ties in a four point span was enough for the Tigers to leap out in front and never gave up the lead. Pierre tried to stay within reach but set two would finish 25-19.
Pierre’s best set was once again the third despite never having a lead of more than two. The Governors never gave up after tying it 17-17, the Tigers outscored Pierre 8-2 and came out on top 25-19 in the third and final set.
The loss for Pierre drops them to 2-10 overall on the season and will be in Lennox on Saturday before hosting Harrisburg on Tuesday. The Governors have just eight games left in the regular season and currently sit outside the top 16. The rematch between Pierre and Huron will be in the Tigers gym on October 21.
