The Pierre Governor volleyball team would come out of the two week break with some much needed rest and would hang with the Brandon Valley Lynx in the first set, but would be swept on Saturday.
Scores were 25-16, 25-10 and 25-21 as the Lynx had to fight through the first set with the Govs and Lynx trading points. Jayaunna Stroh and Jersie Melcher would lead the way for BV as Stroh finished with a match high 12 kills and Melcher had 11 as they would pace the Lynx in each set. Pierre would fight in the third set and tie the game at 21-21 before Brandon Valley scored the final four points for their 11th straight win. Ally Keyes would lead Pierre with five kills while Alyssa Loe had four and Sloane Waldron, Alexis Schlekeway and Marena Buschbom had three each.
The Governors fall to 2-9 on the season and will host Huron on Tuesday. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 in Pierre.
