The Tea Area Titans would get in the win column for the first time all season on Saturday, sweeping the Pierre Governors 25-19, 25-18 and 25-23 in Tea.
The Governors jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first set and led until 11-11 before the Titans took control and won their first set of the season and then led almost the entire way in set two. Pierre went down 16-11 on a 5-0 run in the third set and then stormed back to even lead late in the third 23-22, but the Titans would score three straight to win the match and improve to 1-7 on the season. Kenned Chesley would lead all hitters with eight kills on the afternoon while Anaya Connors and Remington Bechard each had seven. Alexis Schlekeway had the team high six kills for Pierre as she had four in the third set alone. Pierre was out hit 31-19 in the match.
The Governors will have two weeks off at now 2-8 on the season at the midway point of the year. The Governors will start the second half of the season on Saturday October 4 at home against Brandon Valley.
