The Pierre Governors, donning the Aiden Van Balen jerseys Friday night would grab a homecoming win 20-17 over the Brookings Bobcats in a thrilling game at Hollister Field.

Brookings would take the lead on a 27 yard catch on fourth down to take a 17-13 lead and had the ball again, but after a three and out, had a bad snap which Hudson Shaffer as able to disrupt the punt. Pierre would get the ball on the 10 yard line and Carter Merrill would get the 10 yard touchdown run to put Pierre up 20-17 which the defense again clamped down to stop the Bobcats forcing two drives to stall out to win the game. Sam Larson had 11 tackles for the Governors while Porter Hunsley had an interception to help the Gov defense to a 3-1 record as Brookings falls to 2-2.
