The Pierre Governor soccer teams will be at home on Saturday as they host the Tea Area Titans for their homecoming game of the year.
The Governor girls are wanting to get back into the win column after losing to the Stevens Raiders on Monday at home in a postponed game. The Govs are 7-2-1 and will face a Tea Titan team who is struggling to get any off going. Tea has a 10-0 win over Huron, but has just four goals combined in the other eight matches as the Titans come in at 2-7. Tea beat Brookings 3-2 and lost 4-1 to Watertown. Other than those two games with goals, the Titans have been shutout in every other game including losing 2-0 on Tuesday against Aberdeen Central.
The Governor boys are 4-3-3 and will face a tough Tea squad who is 6-2-1 currently inside the top eight for a home first round playoff matchup. Pierre tied Harrisburg and lost to Brandon Valley to end the week after a three game win streak. Meanwhile, Tea had a four game winning streak snapped with a 2-0 loss to Aberdeen Central on Tuesday. Tea has won every game when they score and have in their two losses and a tie, they were shutout.
Kickoff of the boys game is at 12:00 with the girls game to follow at the PILC Fields in Pierre.
