The Pierre Governor soccer team would fall in a battle of top teams in the state on Monday with a 3-1 loss to the Stevens Raiders in a postponed game.
Stevens remains unbeaten with the win at now 9-0-1 as the Governors drop to 7-2-1 as Pierre ends a tough stretch of three games in five days with two teams being unbeaten. Pierre would take a 1-0 lead early on as Lexie Hillmer would get the go-ahead goal. But the Raiders would tie the game back and score the last three goals for the win as they killed time and forced Pierre to continue to bring the ball the length of the field. Pierre is 1-2 in the last three games but will finish the season with the last four games against teams below .500.
The Pierre boys and girls will now play again on Saturday as the Govs take on the Tea Area Titans on the road. The boys will play first and the girls will follow starting at 12:00.
