Both soccer games on Saturday would finish at 2-1 but it was a win for the girls, but a loss for the boys as the Pierre Governors would face Brandon Valley on the road.
Caiden Ahartz would score the lone goal of the game for the Governor boys as the Govs fall to 4-3-3 on the season. The Governors have slipped below the top eight but are still hanging around that spot to still possibly host a first round playoff game with just four games remaining in the regular season with two at home.
The Governor girls would go down 1-0 to the Lynx, but comeback and score twice with Lexie Hillmer to win 2-1 including a penalty kick goal for the game winner on Saturday. After the loss to the Harrisburg Tigers on Thursday, Pierre jumps right back in the win column as the Govs are now 7-1-1 on the year and remain in the top four of the standings with the three other unbeaten times.
Monday, the Governors will face one of those unbeaten teams as the Stevens Raiders will be in town. It’s a makeup of the Friday postponement two weeks ago. It’s a girls varsity game only, not even a JV game. The game will kickoff at 4:00 from the PILC Fields in Pierre.
