The Pierre Governor soccer teams would host the Harrisburg Tigers on Thursday and the boys would tie 1-1 while the girls would fall 2-0 in the first loss of the season.
The Governor boys would get a PK by Jacoby LaRoche for its only goal of the game as they move to 4-2-3 on the season while Harrisburg stops its five match losing streak at now 1-5-1. The tie also stops Pierre’s three match winning streak but have not lost in the last four games to this point.
In the girls game, Harrisburg again did not allow a goal at now 7-0 on the season in the 2-0 victory. That’s the seventh shutout in seven games for the Tigers who continue to be the most dominant team in Class AA over the halfway point of the season. Pierre slides to now 6-1-1 and the girls will have two games over the next four days with the makeup game against Stevens.
Pierre will travel to Brandon Valley on Saturday. Kickoff of the boys game will be at 12:00 with the girls game to follow at the Brandon Valley High School Stadium.
