PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Pierre woman has been sentenced for falsifying her own medical marijuana card while working for the South Dakota Department of Health. South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says 24 year-old Alexandra Feiner was given a suspended imposition of sentence after pleading guilty to a felony count of Offering a False or Forged Instrument for Filing, Registering or Recording. In addition to the suspended imposition of sentence, Feiner has a two-year prison term hanging over her for two years. The prison time was suspended and Feiner will be on probation for two years as well. There are over 14-thousand employees on the state payroll and Jackley says the majority of state workers are hard workers. He added Feiner’s behavior should not reflect on the others’ work ethic. By falsifying the medical cannabis cards, Feiner avoided the medical provider certification requirement and fees required too obtain a medical cannabis card.
