PIERRE, (KCCR) — A 13 year-old male student at Georgia Morse Middle School in Pierre is in custody as police investigate firearms being with that student at the school. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says patrol officers responded to Georgia Morse Middle School around 10 am Tuesday morning following reports of a student who had brought a couple of firearms to school. No known threats were made against the school or students at the school and the firearms were seized by police from the student. Pelle did not says how many or what kinds of firearms the student had and if they were loaded or not. There are no safety concerns at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Due to the suspect being a juvenile, no further information is being released by the Pierre Police Department.
