The Pierre Governor soccer teams will be on the road on Saturday as they travel to face the Spearfish Spartans as both teams are looking for a second win this week.
The Governor boys will face the winless Spartans in the first game of the doubleheader as Spearfish is 0-5-1 tying its latest game to Roosevelt with a 2-2 score. Spearfish has just five goals in six games while giving up on average around 4.5 goals per game. The Governors just went above the .500 mark for the first time this season in Tuesday’s win and have played two complete games scoring four goals in each of the last two games.
The number one ranked Governor girls look to remain unbeaten taking on the 3-2-1 Spartans who just lost 7-1 to Roosevelt, one of the other two unbeaten teams in AA. Pierre has won back-to-back games with scores of 3-2 each as Lexie Hillmer had a hat trick on Tuesday and the Govs had a furious comeback scoring three goals in the last five minutes against Rapid City Central last Saturday.
The Governor boys will play first at 12:00 Central time with the girls game to follow at 2:00 at the Black Hills Power Sports Complex in Spearfish.
