Using solid defense and point setups, the Faulkton Area Trojans swept the Sully Buttes Chargers by the scores of 25-13, 25-14, and 25-19 Tuesday night in Onida.
Unforced errors were a key factor for Sully Buttes, who gave the Trojans points the entire night. Even though the service errors were fairly even, the Chargers kept finding themselves out of position against the Faulkton volleys and kill shots. Most effective for the 2-0 Trojans was the soft tip over the blocking, taller Sully Buttes squad.
Leading the way for Faulkton Area was junior Anika Mueller, along with senior Presleigh Martinmaas, both with numerous kills.
The Chargers were led by seniors Jadyn Jaeger and Madison Bradberry, with junior Ally Buhler the leading setter for 2-3 Sully Buttes.
Next up for the Chargers is another home match against Class A powerhouse the Miller Rustlers, with head coach Linda Deboer, who has tallied close to 750 wins during her 35 year career. First serve is at 7:30, with a 7:15PM pregame on Country 95.3FM, pierrecountry.com, and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports. DT Meyer will have the call from Onida.
