The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes would fall in a wild five set match on Tuesday to the Chamberlain Cubs to open the season 16-25, 25-19, 25-17, 26-28 and 17-15.
The Cubs looked to be much improved from last year as they did not win a set against Stanley County last season, but took the second and third set to go up 2-1 before Stanley County battled back to get the extra point win to force a fifth set. Chamberlain led most of the way, but again the Lady Buffaloes battled back from near defeat and had the set tied at 15 before the Cubs took the final two points to steal one away on the road. Brecken Huebner had 10 kills to lead Stanley County while Addy Deal had seven while Chamberlain was led by Natalie Nelson with 11 kills and Jovie VandenBosch with 10.
Stanley County will travel to Wall to face the Eagles and then the Bennett County Warriors starting at 2:00 Central Time.
