PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The Commission will consider approval of a six-item consent calendar including minutes and claims, a raffle request filed by Feeding South Dakota and two new hires in the Business Office and Parks Department. Commissioners will consider approval of an engineering agreement for improvements to the drinking water intake at the drinking water treatment plant. Related to that, Commissioners will consider a request for qualification proposals for a construction manager at-risk for improvements to the drinking water intake system. The Commission will consider a request to surplus a digger truck from the Electric Department. The City of Fort Pierre considered purchasing that vehicle at their meeting last night. Also on the agenda is a change order for the Steamboat Park Sidewalk project and more outside agency presentations. Agencies presenting include the Boys and Girls Club, Pierre Area Referral Services and PAWS Animal Rescue. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
