PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Winner man has been sentenced in federal court for having sexual contact with a child. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says U-S District Judge Eric Shulte sentenced 30 year-old Clayton Spotted Calf to 10 years in federal prison with five years of supervised release to follow the prison term Spotted Calf was indicted by a federal grand jury in June of 2024 and pleaded guilty to Abusive Sexual Contact with a Child in April. Ramsdell says Spotted Calf committed the crime against a child between the ages of six and eight sometime between April of 2015 and June of 2017 in Todd County on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation. Ramsdell says the assaults happened on more than one occasion during that time period. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and South Dakota’s Division of Criminal Investigation. Spotted Calf was taken into custody last week by the U-S Marshals Service to begin serving his sentence.
