CHAMBERLAIN, (KCCR) — The name of a man from Illinois killed in a motorcycle crash last week in Brule County has been released by the South Dakota Highway Patrol. The crash happened Friday afternoon around 2:20 pm on Interstate 90 three miles east of Chamberlain. The preliminary crash investigation shows 71 year-old Manuel Acosta of Chicago, Illinois was driving his 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on I-90 near mile marker 268 when the bike began to wobble. The motorcycle fell to the ground and Acosta was separated from the motorcycle. The motorcycle ended up in the ditch. Acosta was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported to Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The Highway Patrol has not indicated what caused the motorcycle to wobble and lose control. The crash remains under investigation.
