The 93rd annual South Dakota Amateur baseball tournament for Class B will open tonight in Brandon with a pair of games as Four Corners will start it’s tournament on Saturday.
The traditional 32 team single elimination tournament runs from today, August 6 through the 17, this year in Brandon instead of in its usual spot, Mitchell. Flandreau and Parkston will kick off the tournament tonight at 5:30 while Lake Norden and Alexandria will follow. Four games will be played Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as the first round concludes and second round begins on Sunday.
Four Corners, who was the third team to come out of the Pony Hills League will open the tournament Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Saturday morning to start the day at 11:00 AM. Four Corners went 15-3 during the season with a playoff loss to Burke. If Four Corners beats LCW they will move to Tuesday’s Round of 16 game to face either Platte or Redfield. The quarterfinals for the tournament will be next week Thursday and Friday with the semifinals on Saturday and championship on Sunday.
