
CHAMBERLAIN, (KCCR) — A motorcyclist from Illinois has died in a crash on Interstate 90. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened three miles east of Chamberlain on Friday, August 1st around 2:20 pm. According to the preliminary crash investigation a 71 year-old Chicago man was driving his 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on I-90 near mile marker 268 when the motorcycle began to wobble. That caused the motorcycle to fall and separate from the driver. The motorcycle ended up in the ditch. The man was taken to Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The name of the motorcycle driver has not been released pending notification of family. A Florida man died as part of a four-cycle crash on U-S Highway 14-A in Pennington County also on Friday. Motorcycle traffic is on the rise as the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is underway in western South Dakota.
