Because of rain in Aberdeen earlier last week, the schedule had to change for the 14U state tournament, but it didn’t face Post 8 as they are 3-0 heading into Monday’s bracket play.
Pierre had just one game Friday, Saturday and Sunday and won their way to the 3-0 record and earning a top seed for Monday. The Eights beat Sioux Falls 4-3. Pierre scored three runs in the first to match Sioux Falls’ three runs as Brecken Furhman, Tripp Lindekugel and Jace Hand each had an RBI in the first. Kaden Goodlander would get an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth which proved to be the game winning RBI. Goodlander also threw all seven innings allowing three unearned runs on three hits with four strikeouts.
On Saturday, Pierre dominated Yankton 19-0 as Hayden Northrup went 3-3 with four RBIs while Fuhrman drove in three and Tucker Swenson with Janzen Arrow each having two RBIs.
